Terms of Service

1. Agreement to These Terms

BeiMei Date (北美相亲网) is a dating service operated by EdgelinkServices, LLC ("BeiMei Date", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms, to our Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms, and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of them, do not use BeiMei Date.

Section 18 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a waiver of your right to participate in a class action. It affects how disputes between us are resolved, and it includes a 30-day right to opt out. Please read it.

2. Who May Use BeiMei Date

You must be at least 18 years old. There are no exceptions, and we remove accounts belonging to anyone under 18 as soon as we learn of them. See our Child Safety Policy.

By creating an account you represent and warrant that:

  • You are 18 or older and can enter into a binding contract;
  • You are not required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction, and have not been convicted of, or pleaded no contest to, a felony, a sex crime, or any crime involving violence;
  • You have never had a BeiMei Date account removed for violating these Terms or our Community Guidelines;
  • You are not barred from using the service under the laws of the United States, Canada, or any other applicable jurisdiction;
  • You will comply with these Terms and with all laws that apply to you.

We do not verify these representations, and you should not assume other members have been checked against them. See section 9.

3. Your Account

One person, one account. Your profile must describe you accurately — your photos must be of you, and your age, relationship status and identity must be truthful. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Accounts are personal to you and may not be sold, shared or transferred.

Your date of birth is locked once set. Age is what other members decide on, so it is not something that can be edited between conversations. If yours is wrong, email contact@beimeidate.com and we will correct it.

If we remove your account, you may not create another one. Creating a replacement account after removal is itself a violation, and any account we identify as a replacement may be removed without further notice.

4. Prohibited Conduct

Our Community Guidelines set out the rules in full, with examples and the consequences for each. They are part of these Terms and are enforceable as such. In summary, you may not use BeiMei Date to:

  • Sexually harass anyone — including sending unsolicited sexual messages, photos or propositions, continuing after someone has declined or gone quiet, pressuring anyone for images or contact, or making degrading, coercive or objectifying sexual remarks, including remarks that fetishise a person's ethnicity or nationality;
  • Sexualise, contact or groom a minor, or share, request or possess child sexual abuse material;
  • Share, threaten to share, or demand intimate images without consent, including sextortion;
  • Threaten, stalk or incite violence, publish anyone's private information, or engage in sexual violence or coercion;
  • Post hate speech or dehumanising content targeting race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, disability, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation;
  • Advertise, solicit or arrange commercial sexual services, including escorting, paid or transactional arrangements, or anything indicating human trafficking;
  • Buy, sell or arrange anything illegal, including controlled substances, weapons, counterfeit goods, forged documents or stolen financial instruments, or organise criminal activity;
  • Defraud members — asking for money, payment details, gift cards or crypto transfers, pitching investments, or phishing for codes, passwords or identity documents;
  • Harass or bully anyone, including after being unmatched or declined, or evade a block by any means;
  • Impersonate anyone, use another person's photos, misstate your age, or operate bot or automated accounts;
  • Spam, advertise, recruit or promote, or collect or scrape member profiles, photos or contact details;
  • Interfere with the service — reverse engineering, scraping, circumventing security or rate limits, or accessing the service other than through the interfaces we provide.

These rules apply to your profile, photos, messages, voice notes and prompt answers, and they apply to your conduct towards people you meet here after the conversation moves off the app or into the world.

5. Consent and Sexual Content

Matching with someone is not consent to a sexual conversation, to receiving images, or to anything else. Ask first, and accept the answer — a change of subject or a silence is also an answer.

We treat sexual content differently depending on whether it was invited. Explicit content sent as an opening message, as a like comment, or in a profile — where the recipient has not said anything to you — is refused, and repeated attempts put the account in front of our team. Between two members who are already in a conversation, the same words are not automatically refused, because two adults who both want that conversation have not broken any rule. Nothing in this paragraph permits coercive, degrading or threatening sexual content, which is prohibited at every stage.

BeiMei Date is not an adult content service. Nudity and sexually explicit imagery are not permitted in profile photos or in any public area of the service.

6. Zero Tolerance: Minors and Child Sexual Exploitation

Any sexualisation of a minor, any attempt to contact or groom a minor, and any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) results in immediate permanent removal. We preserve the relevant records, report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and cooperate with law enforcement. 7. Your Content

You keep ownership of the photos, text, voice notes and other content you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating, improving and securing the service. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to retain for safety, legal or record-keeping reasons (see sections 10 and 14) and for copies others have already saved outside the service, which we cannot recall.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, and we may decline to display content we reasonably believe puts members at risk. We do not have to give notice before removing content, though we usually do.

8. Enforcement, Reporting and Appeals

We investigate reported conduct and content we detect ourselves. Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may issue a warning, restrict features, limit visibility, suspend an account, or remove it permanently. Critical violations — child safety, non-consensual imagery, threats of violence, commercial sexual services — end an account on the first confirmed instance. The ladder is published in full in the Community Guidelines.

Our automated systems refuse individual messages and put accounts in front of our team. They do not, by themselves, warn, restrict, suspend or remove anyone — a person makes every sanction decision.

We also do not remove accounts on report volume alone. Reports are weighted and reviewed, because a rule that removed anyone with enough reports would hand a small group the power to remove members they dislike.

Appeals. If you believe we made a mistake, email contact@beimeidate.com from the email address on your account. A different reviewer will look at the decision. If it was wrong, we will reinstate your account and tell you so.

If your account is removed for a violation, we keep a one-way record of the removal — a cryptographic hash of your email address, not the address itself — so that the same account cannot be recreated by deleting it and signing up again. If we lift a removal on appeal, that record is deleted with it. See section 14.

9. Safety — What We Do and Do Not Do

We do not conduct criminal background checks on members. We do not screen members against sex offender registries, criminal records or public databases of any kind, and we do not verify anyone's identity. Several U.S. states require online dating services to tell you this clearly; we tell every member, wherever you live.

Photo verification, where offered, means a member submitted a selfie for review against their profile photos. It is a signal that the photos are probably of the person using the account. It is not an identity check, a criminal background check, or an assurance about anyone's character, intentions or safety.

We do not currently run automated nudity or image classification over uploaded photos. Photos are reviewed when reported.

Please take these precautions. Never send money or share financial information with someone you met here, however convincing the reason. Keep conversations on the app until you are comfortable. Meet in public the first few times, arrange your own transport, and tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Trust your instincts and leave if something feels wrong.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and in person. We do not supervise, direct, control or monitor members in the real world, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member on or off the service. Reporting an incident to us is not a substitute for reporting a crime to the police.

10. Law Enforcement and Legal Process

We respond to valid legal process — subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants — and we may disclose information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent imminent harm, to investigate violations, or to comply with the law. We may preserve records, including content that was never delivered, when we believe they may be relevant to an investigation. Reports of apparent child sexual exploitation are referred to NCMEC as federal law requires, whether or not any member asks us to.

11. Premium Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal

Some features require a paid subscription. Current plans are $19.99 for one month, $14.99 per month billed as a three-month term, and $9.99 per month billed as a six-month term, in US dollars unless stated otherwise at checkout. Prices, plans and features may change; a change will not alter a term you have already paid for.

Subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel before the current term ends, your subscription renews for another term of the same length and the payment method on file is charged the then-current price. We will tell you the price, the term and the renewal date before you buy.

How to cancel. If you subscribed in the app through Google Play, cancel through your Google Play subscriptions settings — cancelling in the app store is what stops the renewal. If you subscribed on the web, cancel from your account settings, or email contact@beimeidate.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the paid features until the end of the term you already paid for.

Refunds. Purchases made through Google Play are refunded under Google's policies, not ours, and must be requested from Google. Otherwise, payments are non-refundable except where a refund is required by the law that applies to you — including the cooling-off and cancellation rights available in some states, provinces and countries, which these Terms do not limit.

If your account is removed for violating these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund of any unused portion of a subscription.

12. Advertising and Sponsored Content

We may display advertising or sponsored content in public areas of the website to support the service. Advertising does not imply our endorsement of any advertiser, product or service. We do not sell your private chat content or private profile data to advertisers. See our Cookie Policy.

13. Third-Party Services

BeiMei Date relies on third parties for sign-in, payments, hosting, notifications and abuse prevention. Using those features means your information is handled by them as described in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for them.

14. Deletion, Suspension and Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion removes your profile from the service and deletes your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Your conversations are deleted too, which means the people you were talking to lose them as well — there is no way to keep one half of a conversation.

Deleting your account does not erase records we are required or permitted to keep: safety and moderation records about reports, blocks and enforcement decisions, transaction records we must retain for tax and accounting, and content preserved in connection with a legal request. This is also how a removed account is prevented from simply returning.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect members. We may also discontinue the service, or any part of it, with reasonable notice where practicable.

15. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any member is who they claim to be, or that you will meet anyone or form any relationship.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BeiMei Date and EdgelinkServices, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100).

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BeiMei Date, EdgelinkServices, LLC and its officers, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the service, your breach of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or your interactions with any other member.

18. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration and Class-Action Waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.

Talk to us first. Most problems can be resolved quickly. Before starting arbitration, please email contact@beimeidate.com describing the dispute and what you would like us to do. If we cannot resolve it within 60 days, either of us may begin arbitration.

Arbitration. Except as set out below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of BeiMei Date will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this section. The arbitrator decides all issues except that a court decides whether the class-action waiver below is enforceable. Arbitration may be conducted by documents, by telephone or video, or in person in the county where you live, at your choice.

Class-action waiver. Disputes are resolved individually. You and we each waive the right to bring or participate in a class, collective, consolidated or representative action, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — must proceed in court, and the rest of this section still applies.

Small claims. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration, if it qualifies.

Injunctive relief. Either of us may seek injunctive relief in court to stop unauthorised use or abuse of the service, or infringement of intellectual property rights.

Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing contact@beimeidate.com with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, including your name and the email address on your account. Opting out has no effect on your account or on any other part of these Terms, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.

Mass filings. If 25 or more similar claims are asserted against us by the same or coordinated counsel, the claims will be arbitrated in staged batches to keep costs proportionate, and the applicable limitation periods are tolled for claims awaiting their batch.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the Federal Arbitration Act as to section 18, and otherwise by the laws of the state in which EdgelinkServices, LLC has its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules — except that nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place where you live.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the "Last Updated" date above will change. Continuing to use BeiMei Date after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.
