Community Guidelines

Last Updated: September 2026 ·

These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. They apply to everything you do on BeiMei Date — your profile, your photos, your messages, your voice notes — and to how you treat the people you meet here once the conversation moves off the app. Breaking them can cost you your account.

We wrote them in plain language, with examples, because a rule nobody can predict cannot be followed and cannot fairly be enforced.

The one rule underneath all the others

Consent is not implied by a match. Matching means someone was curious about you. It is not agreement to a sexual conversation, to photos, to your phone number, or to anything else. Ask, and accept the answer — including a change of subject or a silence, which are also answers.

What is not allowed

Minors and child sexual exploitation

BeiMei Date is for adults 18 and over. Any sexualisation of a minor, any attempt to contact or groom a minor, and any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) results in permanent removal and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.

  • Any sexual image, video or description involving someone under 18
  • Sexual or romantic messages directed at someone who says or appears to be under 18
  • Asking another member for images of a minor, or offering them
  • Using the app while under 18, or lying about your age to register
  • Asking a member to move a conversation off the app after learning they are a minor

Permanent removal on a first confirmed instance. Evidence is preserved and may be referred to law enforcement.

Intimate images shared without consent

Sharing, threatening to share, or demanding someone's intimate images without their consent is prohibited, whether the images are of a member here or of anyone else. This includes sextortion — using images or the threat of exposure to extract money, more images, or compliance.

  • Posting or sending someone else's nude or sexual images without their permission
  • Threatening to send someone's private photos to their family, employer or followers
  • Demanding money, images or contact in exchange for not releasing photos
  • Recording a video call without the other person's knowledge or consent
  • Sharing screenshots of another member's private messages to shame or expose them

Permanent removal on a first confirmed instance. Evidence is preserved and may be referred to law enforcement.

Threats, violence and stalking

Threatening, encouraging or glorifying violence is prohibited, as is stalking, surveillance, and publishing someone's private information. This applies to what happens after you meet in person as much as to what is typed here.

  • Threatening to hurt, kill or find someone
  • Telling another member to harm or kill themselves
  • Revealing someone's home address, workplace, school or phone number (doxxing)
  • Repeatedly showing up where a member lives or works, or tracking their movements
  • Sexual violence, coercion, or pressuring someone into any sexual act

Permanent removal on a first confirmed instance. Evidence is preserved and may be referred to law enforcement.

Sexual harassment and unsolicited sexual content

Sexual content is never acceptable as an opening. Do not send explicit messages, photos or requests to someone who has not invited them, and do not continue after anyone says no, changes the subject or stops replying. Degrading, coercive or objectifying sexual remarks are prohibited at any stage of a conversation.

  • Opening a conversation with an explicit message, photo or proposition
  • Sending nude or sexual images that were not asked for
  • Continuing sexual talk after someone has declined, deflected or gone quiet
  • Repeatedly asking for nude photos, or pressuring someone who said no
  • Comments that reduce someone to their body, race or a sexual stereotype
  • Fetishising a member's ethnicity or nationality

Removal on a first confirmed instance in most cases.

Hate speech and discrimination

Slurs and dehumanising speech aimed at race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, disability, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation are prohibited. Stating a dating preference is allowed; degrading a group of people is not.

  • Racial, ethnic, homophobic or transphobic slurs
  • Content promoting a hate group or its symbols
  • Dehumanising remarks about a nationality or immigrant community
  • Mocking someone's accent, language, religion or disability

Removal on a first confirmed instance in most cases.

Commercial sexual services and trafficking

BeiMei Date may not be used to advertise, solicit or arrange commercial sexual services, including escorting and paid or transactional arrangements. Any indication of human trafficking or coerced sex work is escalated to law enforcement.

  • Advertising rates, bookings, incall or outcall services
  • Offering or seeking sex, companionship or images in exchange for money, gifts or an allowance
  • Arranging a paid or transactional relationship through the app
  • Recruiting members into sex work
  • Any sign that a person is being controlled, coerced or advertised by someone else

Removal on a first confirmed instance in most cases. Evidence is preserved and may be referred to law enforcement.

Illegal goods and activity

Do not use BeiMei Date to buy, sell, advertise or arrange anything illegal, and do not use it to organise criminal activity.

  • Selling or sourcing controlled substances
  • Offering or seeking firearms, ammunition or weapons
  • Counterfeit goods, stolen property, or forged documents and identification
  • Money laundering, stolen card numbers, or fraudulent financial instruments
  • Coordinating any other conduct that is a crime where you or the other member is

Removal on a first confirmed instance in most cases. Evidence is preserved and may be referred to law enforcement.

Scams and financial solicitation

Never send money to someone you met here. Asking members for money, payment details or investments is prohibited, however the request is framed — an emergency, an investment opportunity, a customs fee, or a favour.

  • Asking for money, gift cards or a bank, card or crypto transfer
  • Investment, trading, crypto or "guaranteed return" pitches
  • Claiming an emergency, a stuck shipment or a medical bill that needs paying
  • Links to paid content, cam sites or subscriptions
  • Phishing for verification codes, passwords or identity documents

Removal on a first confirmed instance in most cases.

Harassment and bullying

Treat people the way you would want to be treated after a first date that did not work out. Insults, contempt and unwanted persistence are prohibited, including attempts to reach someone elsewhere after they have stopped replying here.

  • Insulting someone's appearance, body, income, job or family
  • Abusive messages after being unmatched, declined or left on read
  • Creating a new account to contact someone who blocked or unmatched you
  • Finding a member on another platform to keep contacting them
  • Encouraging other people to pile on to a member

Warning or feature limits first.

Fake profiles and impersonation

Be who you say you are. Photos must be of you, your age and relationship status must be accurate, and you may not pose as another person, a brand or an organisation.

  • Using someone else's photos, or images taken from elsewhere online
  • Posing as a specific real person, a company or an official account
  • Misstating your age, including to appear over 18
  • Automated or bot-operated accounts
  • Running multiple accounts, or returning after removal

Warning or feature limits first.

Spam, promotion and off-platform funnelling

BeiMei Date is for meeting people, not for reaching an audience. Do not advertise, recruit, or use matches as a mailing list, and be cautious when someone rushes you off the app in the first few messages — it is the most common opening move in a scam.

  • Promoting a business, product, event, channel or service
  • Recruiting for a job, a network-marketing scheme or a religious or political campaign
  • Sending the same message in bulk across many matches
  • Pushing immediately to another app or a personal number before any conversation
  • Collecting or scraping member profiles, photos or contact details

Warning or feature limits first.

Self-harm and someone in crisis

If a member tells you they are thinking about suicide or self-harm, that is not a rule violation — it is someone in trouble. Report it so our team can reach out with resources, and if you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Encouraging or instructing anyone to harm themselves is a serious violation and is handled under threats and violence.

  • A member describing suicidal thoughts, self-harm or an eating disorder
  • Someone saying goodbye in a way that suggests they intend to act

Warning or feature limits first.

What happens when someone breaks these rules

The response depends on what happened and whether it has happened before. We are describing the ladder so you know what to expect, not promising a fixed tariff — a first offence that endangers someone is not treated like a first offence that annoys someone.

  1. Warning. A first, lower-severity violation usually gets a warning explaining which rule was broken. Nothing is restricted.
  2. Feature limits. Repeated or more serious violations can restrict messaging, likes or visibility while the account is reviewed.
  3. Suspension. An account under investigation may be suspended so that a person can review it before any permanent decision.
  4. Permanent removal. Critical violations — child safety, non-consensual imagery, threats of violence, commercial sexual services — end the account on the first confirmed instance. Removal is permanent and applies to any new account the same person creates.

Sanctions are decided by a person. Our automated systems refuse individual messages and put accounts in front of our team, but no account is warned, limited, suspended or removed by software alone — a keyword filter is wrong often enough that it must not be allowed to end someone's account.

Appeals. If you believe we got it wrong, email support@beimeidate.com from the address on your account and tell us what you think happened. A different reviewer looks at it. If we upheld the decision in error, we reinstate the account and say so. Appeals of permanent removals for child safety are reviewed, but the bar for reversal is deliberately very high.

How we find violations

Two ways, and we would rather be specific than impressive about it:

  • You tell us. Reports are the most reliable signal we have. Tap the ⋮ menu or the flag icon on any profile or conversation → Report, pick what happened, and add anything that helps. You can block at the same time.
  • Automated scanning. Text you write — messages, like comments, your bio and prompt answers — is scanned against these rules before it is saved. Content in the serious categories is refused outright, and the attempt is recorded even though the message never arrives.

Not everything worth a word is worth a refusal, so there are three things we do instead of blocking:

  • We ask you to think again. If you are about to send something that tends to get people reported — a sexual message, an insult, a push to another app — you get one chance to reconsider. You can always send it anyway; this is advice, not a gate.
  • We warn the person receiving it. A message that mentions money, crypto or payments arrives with a warning attached, as does one flagged as sexual or insulting. You are never left to work out on your own that you are being worked on.
  • We ask if it bothered you. After a message flagged as sexual or insulting, we ask, once, whether it was unwelcome — and reporting from there is one tap. You never have to explain yourself to anyone.

Photos are not classified automatically on this deployment. They are reviewed by a person when reported. We also do not perform criminal background checks or identity verification on members — see the safety section of our Terms of Service.

What happens after you report someone

  • We never tell the person who reported them, and reporting is not visible to them.
  • Reports in the most serious categories — child safety, non-consensual images, threats of violence, trafficking, or a member in crisis — reach a person immediately, without waiting for anyone else to report the same account.
  • Other reports are weighted and queued. We deliberately do not remove accounts on report volume alone, because that would hand anyone with a few throwaway accounts a button that removes anyone else — and on a dating app the people targeted that way are usually the ones already most at risk.
  • Blocking takes effect instantly and does not wait for any review. It also ends the match, which cuts off messages, video calls, typing and online status in both directions and hides each profile from the other.

If you are in danger or need help now

  • Emergency (US & Canada): 911
  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US): call or text 988
  • Talk Suicide Canada: 1-833-456-4566
  • RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline (US): 1-800-656-4673
  • National Domestic Violence Hotline (US): 1-800-799-7233
  • National Human Trafficking Hotline (US): 1-888-373-7888
  • NCMEC CyberTipline: 1-800-843-5678 or report.cybertip.org
  • Our safety team: safety@beimeidate.com

Reporting to us is not a substitute for reporting a crime. If something happened to you, you can do both, and we will preserve what we hold and respond to lawful requests from investigators.

  • 我们的安全团队:safety@beimeidate.com
